Hello and welcome to our website.

We compete as Gordon Bros & Sons and we fly in a little town called Portaferry which is a small town in County Down, Northern Ireland. It lies at the southern end of the Ards Peninsula and if you care to look at “Portaferry” on Google Maps you’ll see it’s quite a tricky place to fly pigeons to.

The partnership these days consists of our Uncle John and his two nephews Gary and Niall. Following the untimely death of our father Benny we obviously decided to keep the partnership name of Gordon Bros and Sons intact.

We compete in the East Down Combine (EDC), the Northern Ireland Provincial Amalgamation (NIPA) and in more recent times also the Irish National Flying Club (INFC)

We have won over  50 x 1st Open EDC’s, 9 x 1st Open NIPA’s and 2nd Open INFC Kings Cup

We are one of only SEVEN fanciers throughout North/Southern Ireland to feature in the Kings Cup result in each of the last 5 seasons – that’s a measure of how difficult the race is

In 2024 we were proud winners of

1st British Isles Pinnacle Ace Youngsters 2024
1st British Isles Pinnacle Special Recognition Award 2024

In 2025 we’re the proud winners of

1st British Isles Pinnacle Long Distance Ace 2025

Many of our breeders are housed in single Sections; and therefore we can guarantee parentage on many occasions

We try to acquire the finest bloodlines that we can.

When we wanted Van Den Bulck bloodlines we went to Dirk himself and got a full round from his breeders

When we wanted Pierre Beyl bloodlines we went to Pierre himself and got a full round from his breeders

When we wanted Flanders Collection bloodlines we went to Yannick himself and we own NINE DIRECT children of “BLIZZARD KING KITTEL” and THREE DIRECT from “PHANTOM BLIZZARD”

When we wanted Distance bloodlines we went to Mark Gilbert himself and acquired DIRECT children from “SOUTHFIELD HISTORY”, “SOUTHFIELD HUGO”, “SOUTHFIELD GOLD LADY”, “SOUTHFIELD GOLD” etc

As you navigate through the pages hopefully you’ll learn a little more about ourselves and our pigeons.
